Elevating Sleep in the Sky: Riyadh Air Bedding Collection
The launch of a brand-new airline is an extraordinary moment in aviation. It is a chance to define identity, refine experience, and set new expectations from day one. For John Horsfall, partnering with Riyadh Air presented a rare opportunity: to design an entire soft-textile collection from the ground up, shaping comfort at every touchpoint across every cabin.
Unlike retrofit projects or incremental updates, this collaboration began with a blank canvas. Working closely with Riyadh Air’s design and product team, we were involved from the earliest stages, integrating bedding, soft furnishings, colour palettes, and fabric technologies directly into the cabin vision.
Our role extended far beyond supplying products. It was about translating brand ambition into tactile experience. Every material selection, every finish, and every functional detail was carefully engineered to align with Riyadh Air’s positioning as a modern luxury carrier.
In Economy, durability and comfort work hand in hand. A calming palette of lavender and indigo, accented with peach, creates an immediate sense of warmth and welcome. Fabrics were selected not only for aesthetic harmony but for performance delivering resilience, easy care, and long-lasting quality.
Premium Economy builds on this foundation with enhanced proportions and refined detailing. Larger pillows, contrasting duvets, and elevated textures signal a clear step up in comfort while maintaining visual cohesion throughout the aircraft.
In Business and Business Elite, the design intent becomes even more pronounced. Luxury mattress pads, plush duvets, and dual-sided pillows create a tailored sleep experience, offering both cooling thermoregulation and soft peachskin warmth. Our Re-Thread® recycled fibre fillings introduce responsible innovation without compromising on indulgence.
Exclusive to Business Elite, wool-blend fine throws and bolster cushions introduce depth, tactility, and sophistication. These elements were developed to complement the cabin architecture, reinforcing a sense of private sanctuary in the sky.
This project demonstrates the impact of thoughtful, integrated design. By collaborating from the very beginning, John Horsfall applied its expertise in bespoke bedding and textile design to create a cohesive, design-led collection that enhances rest and wellbeing at 35,000 feet.
