The John Horsfall team are thrilled to be nominated in the @OnBoardHospitalityMag Awards 2024!
Our EY & PEY Woven Blanket has been designed in collaboration with Air New Zealand's cabin design team and is shortlisted for this years 'Best for OnBoard Textiles' Award 🎉
The blanket encapsulates the airlines’ signature style - elegant and understated but obviously @AirNZ; it fits beautifully with the rest of the cabin aesthetic, adding colour, texture, and interest to the calm colour scheme. Contrasting well against the aircraft seating, the beautiful violet & charcoal colourway consists of a dual colour two tone yarn crossed with a darker charcoal warp, and a multi-directional weave structure creating a double-sided colourway with varied subtle shades.
More sustainable than its predecessor, this tightly spun and expertly woven blanket reduces shedding of any microfibres into its environment.
This years award winners will be revealed on the @WTCExpo show floor, and we look forward to seeing plenty of you there for the celebrations!

As we near the end of 2023, we feel proud reminiscing on the many prestigious awards we have received over the years. First receiving the Queens Award for Export in 1993, a further two Queens Awards were won in 1998 & 1999. More recently product awards have included ‘Best Premium Economy Bedding’ from Travel Plus awards 2019; Industry Champions in the @OnBoardHospitalitymag Awards 2021, and ‘Best for OnBoard Textiles’ across 3 years in the OBH Awards 2020, 2022 & 2023.

Yesterday @VirginAtlantic Flight100 became the world's first 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) transatlantic flight by a commercial airline, taking off from London Heathrow to New York JFK.
The historic flight is part of an ongoing effort to demonstrate a greener way of flying is possible. SAF is made from sustainable sources such as agricultural waste and used cooking oil, meaning its production involves using about 70 per cent less carbon, playing a large role in reducing the carbon impact of long-haul aviation.
The team at John Horsfall are proud to contribute to Virgin Atlantic's push on sustainability, updating their current onboard textile products to be more sustainable; this includes changing all of our filled items to be made with recycled polyester filling and saving on any excess material usage where possible.

Trade shows have always been an important place for John Horsfall to showcase innovative blankets & bedding. In 1996 the company was presented with a commemorative award to acknowledge exhibiting at every @Heimtextil for 25 years, since the 1971 inauguration of Europe’s premier textiles fair.
As we cemented our presence in the airline industry, we became a stalwart of the Aviation Trade Shows; exhibiting at @AIXexpo, #IFSA and the ever-evolving IFCA>ITCA, now known as @WTCExpo. John Horsfall remains a core presence at these exhibitions; our recent show stands focus strongly on sustainable innovations including Re-Thread®, recycled & reclaimed airline textiles and the team work with airline clients to help make the most sustainable choices they can.
